Sprague Theobald Filmmaker

SPRAGUE THEOBALD

has always had an affinity for the sea. From his 3 year stint on the America's Cup yacht Intrepid to his private voyages from Alaska through the Panama Canal and into the Caribbean, Sprague has over 40,000 deep water miles under his belt. His look at The America's Cup in "The 25th Defense" won him an Emmy Award and his most recent work, "Welcome to Nordhavn" was pivotal in boosting the company's sales in 2007. Adam Weissman

ADAM WEISSMAN

is a highly prolific director whose work for such entertainment giants as Nickelodeon, MTV, Disney, and Family Channel has garnered awards from such diverse panels as the Chicago Film Festival, The International Film and TV Festival of NY and the CINE Competition. Adam is currently directing "They Are Among Us" a SciFi channel original movie for television, starring Isabella Rossellini, Judd Nelson and Gil Bellows of "Ally McBeal" fame. He is also developing several television and feature projects.
Greg Deascentis Master Diver

GREG DEASCENTIS

has worked as a commercial diver since the early 1980's, being involved in every aspect of the business from instruction to repair and salvage. His early training as a news and commercial photographer has translated well to his work with underwater video equipment. Trained to the standards of the Association of Underwater Dive Contractors he is also an accomplished archeologist. His most recent adventure has been his involvement with the Rhode Island Marine Archaeology Project, which has been instrumental in reclaiming Captain James Cook's ship Endeavor from the bottom of Newport Harbor.
Marc Rosenberg

MARC ROSENBERG

was raised in Houston, Texas and received a duel B.A. in Government and English from the University of Texas. After university, Marc traveled through Europe and Asia, eventually settling in Sydney, Australia, where he was awarded one of four Writers In Residence places at the prestigious Australian Film and TV School. During this period Marc wrote two short films, each winning AFI awards (the Australian equivalent to Academy Awards). Marc was awarded the Australian Writer's Guild Award for "Best Original Screenplay", and the "New South Wales Premier's Award" for outstanding achievement in film. Marc also won an Australian Writer's Guild Award for Best Screen Adaptation. Marc currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife Stacy, his son Oscar and daughter, Charlotte.
Dominique Tanton First Mate

DOMINIQUE TANTON

is a recipient of The American Yacht Institute's Silver Service Certificate. For the last five years she has acted as First Mate and Chef on a variety of yachts traveling throughout the Western Hemisphere. She has a STCW-95 Certificate, which is essential for mariners on commercial vessels in open ocean.
Chauncey Tanton

CHAUNCEY TANTON

Originally from Newport Rhode Island, Chauncey Tanton has spent the last 15 years Snowboarding in the mountains of Colorado. A professional snowboarder for Burton and Oakley, he turned to the University of Colorado and received a bachelor's in Business Finance. Most recently he spent the last three years working as a financial advisor for UBS until the monotony of corporate life and the lure of a more adventurous life proved irresistible. Chauncey brings with him a wealth of experience in marketing, media, sponsorship, and engineering. He will be joining the expedition in Barrow, Alaska and looks forward to snowboarding in port towns, camera assisting Sprague, and filming promotional pieces for sponsors.
Sefton Theobald

SEFTON THEOBALD

Presently a student at the University of Colorado at Denver, Sefton Theobald has made room around his school schedule for this much more enticing expedition. Currently studying for his business marketing degree, his true love is music production and is soon to release his first full-length “concept” album.  Sefton hopes to gain unique inspiration from this arctic endeavor for future compositions.  In addition to his own creations, he will be composing some tracks for the final documentary, “Braving the Northwest Passage.”  The son of Sprague Theobald, and little brother of Dominique and Chauncey Tanton, Sefton comes aboard very eager to learn from both the crew and the overall experience.  An enthusiast of cold climates and adventure, this journey was irresistible to Sefton.  Among other things Sefton looks forward to witnessing the scale of icebergs in all their magnificence, aiding the camera and audio work for his father, and of course snowboarding the top of the world with his older brother Chauncey. 
Ulli Bonnekamp

ULLI BONNEKAMP

Renown cinematographer Ulli Bonnekamp will film the Halifax to Greenland leg of the trip. Ullie has a broad range of professional experience: He has shot numerous TV commercials, primarily in 35 and 16mm film, and is a long-time producer for Getty Images Film in New York, the world's largest stock agency. His documentary work ranges from WNET's Emmy winning "Broadway" series and its sequel on American Comedy, "Make 'm Laugh" (2009), to National Geographic (Kenya, 1992), Sundance Channel"s "Big Ideas for a Small Planet" (2007-2009) and the popular NBC series "Crime and Punishment". He worked on David Grubin's 2008 PBS series "The Jewish Americans", numerous assignments for the BBC and an upcoming Discovery Channel documentary series titled "Tribes", produced by @Radical Media, for whom Ulli also shot on the acclaimed show "Iconoclasts". Other clients include HBO, FOX, TBS and WGBH and credits on "Inconvenient Truth" and "Shut up and Sing".Expanding into the role of co-director/cameraman Ulli is currently working on a documentary series on traditional peacebuilding and community reconciliation, ecological restoration and reintegration of child soldiers in post civil war Liberia, West Africa.

has 15 years of professional yachting experience behind him. In addition to commanding a USCG 200 Ton Masters License and boasting an unblemished safety record over 100,000 miles of active duty, his extensive knowledge of marine engineering and technological expertise are unparalleled. He is also a Padi certified open water diver.
Philip J. Wagner MD

PHILIP J. WAGNER MD,

Medical Officer. Dr. Wagner is a board-certified internist, anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist practicing at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. He has also been a cruise ship doctor, medical director of an air-ambulance company and ER doc (among other things) in past lives. He has a love for adventure of any kind, especially if it involves boating. Dr. Wagner developed the medical kit for the expedition and will be providing tele-medicine support to the crew via satellite phone, in the unlikely event it is needed.
